About Us

The CCFA represents approximately 350 continuing and 150 term faculty at Camosun College.    There are four key committees working to advance the objectives of the Association:  The Executive Committee, The Contract Management Committee, The Contract Negotiating Committee and the Professional Development Committee, which is a joint committee, chaired by a member of the CCFA Executive.  

The Executive: conducts the business of the Association, represents the CCFA at regular meetings of the Federation of Post Secondary educators and meets twice monthly.  

The Negotiating Committee:  During the 2011-12 school year, is bargaining, both locally and at the common table.  

The Contract Management Committee: meets bi-weekly and works at contract defense and clarification of the intent of language in the collective agreement. 

The Professional Development Committee: meets bi-weekly and approves applications from faculty for professional development funding, as well as setting funding guidelines.

The Objectives of the CCFA are:

w To promote the provision of the best possible educational services at Camosun College

w To promote the professional development of its members

w To represent the views of its members on committees, boards, and other bodies responsible for decision affecting education at Camosun College

w To facilitate communication among its members and between its members and the College Board of Governors, the administration, the student body and the community

w To promote the interests of members in their employment relationships including bargaining  their contractual rights with Camosun College

w To foster a sense of community within Camosun College

w To promote the health and safety of the members in the workplace.
